The visual arts program concentrates on providing students with enriched opportunities for growth in creative thinking and the development of artistic skills. Students will be exposed to traditional instruction specializing in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and crafts. Instruction in emerging technological and experimental directions includes media arts, computer arts, digital photography, film and video. Field trips and guest artists will complement and further enrich the student’s experience.

Visual Art Movie

DAY OF AUDITION:  Bring your portfolio with you.


The day of audition consists of:

1.a workshop in the morning

2.lunch break 

3.individual interviews in the afternoon


Deliver your portfolio to room 112 between 8:30 and 9:00 am in the morning of your audition and then proceed to room 111 for your compulsory two-hour visual arts audition class.  Drawing materials will be provided. The workshop will begin at 9:00 AM.


You will break for lunch AT 11:15 AM and return to the school at your interview time which will be in room 112.


Your interview will take 10 minutes after which you will pick up your portfolio and leave from

room 111.  This completes your audition.


On the reverse side of EACH piece of artwork being submitted attach a label including the following information:


1.Your name

2.Title of work

3.Date

4.Media

5.Whether it was done in school, after school art program, on own time, etc.


The portfolio contents MUST include the following.

1.Self Portrait

2.Still Life

3.3 Dimensional work

4.Landscape

5.Sketchbook

6.A maximum two-page, typed description (artist statement) of your work that will help the panel in viewing the portfolio.  This should include a description of: materials used, processes involved and whether the work was done as part of a school assignment, after-school art program or done in your free time. 

Students may include up to a maximum of three (3) additional pieces of work.
