MUSIC (VOCAL AND INSTRUMENTAL WINDS)
The music program is designed to develop and nurture enhanced musical skills. Courses will emphasize the performance of music and strike a balance between challenge and skill. Students will perform in solo and small ensemble repertoire situations with assistance from guest artists/teachers. Musical skills will be broadened through the study and participation in creative activities developing critical listening, music history, ear training, and sight singing. All students in the program will participate in a large ensemble.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
MUSIC (VOCAL)
All students will participate in a 30-minute workshop that includes:
➡ theory quiz
➡ sight reading a piece of music
➡ an ear training test
➡ interview
➡perform the following:
Two contrasting solos which have a piano accompaniment. An accompanist will be provided. A taped accompaniment is not acceptable. Candidates must supply a copy of the music for the audition panel.

SUGGESTIONS:
➡Please donʼt learn the songs from websites. They are often NOT accurate and may be a different version, or in a different key
➡ Run through the music as written with a piano before your audition.
➡ Be aware of learning different genres and styles.
